Algorand Miami Accelerator is the first Algorand blockchain accelerator in MIAMI and LATAM. We encourage, back and foster projects to help them build, grow and push for financial innovation on the entire Algorand platform.
We've discovered a massive potential for blockchain and cryptocurrency markets in Miami, Florida and all of Latin America, as well as for related businesses and talent. For this reason, we've opened a site in Miami, historically viewed as a bridge between Latin America and the United States, with an entirely bilingual program.
The selected projects will go through a 10-week acceleration program. Workshops, advisory sessions, and personalized mentorship with high-profile experts that will support each project's development throughout the program.
We want to stablish Miami as the epicenter of digital payments and digital capital markets
Each selected project will receive a USD 20,000 grant from Algorand Foundation and USD 15,000 investment from Borderless Capital in return for 3% equity.
The projects that demonstrate aptitude and potential throughout the program will be eligible to receive follow-up investments ranging from USD 250,000 to USD 1,000,000.
We rely on a network of corporate partners who are exploring blockchain solutions on Algorand.
We support projects in their strategy and go-to-market execution.
Along with our network of partners, we support each project’s scale-up phase.
We tap into a network of experienced mentors who provide guidance based on the specific business needs of each project.
Algorand’s technical resources and technical support will be available to each project so they can develop effectively.
Each selected project will receive an initial investment and those that demonstrate aptitude and potential throughout the program will be eligible for larger investments.
The Algorand Foundation’s primary goal is to encourage and foster projects that build, grow and push for financial innovation on the entire Algorand ecosystem.
Since 2020, Algorand’s acceleration programs in Asia and Europe have supported their selected projects in strategy formulation and go-to-market execution. Each project received technical mentorship, advisory in marketing and fundraising, and benefited from working alongside our experts and mentors. Now is Latin America’s chance.

For your application to be considered, you must clearly outline your project idea and team while also providing a high-level business development plan.
We welcome applications from projects that meet the following requirements:
We are considering all industries as long as there is a clear business case for building their project on the Algorand blockchain. However, our main areas of interest include digital payments (especially in USDC), DeFi (Decentralized Finances), NFT (Non-Fungible Token), sustainability and social impact.
We don’t charge any enrollment fees. The program is designed to offer optimal support to our selected projects and allow them access to a strong network of resources, including mentors and a global investor community. Upon selection, successful projects will receive USD 35,000 in upfront seed funding: USD 20,000 as a grant from the Algorand Foundation and USD $15,000 as an investment from Borderless Capital in return for 3% equity.
We aim to accept 10 projects for the Algorand Miami Accelerator.
The 10-week accelerator program consists of workshops and advisory sessions with experts on Tech, Product, Metrics, Business Planning, Marketing, Sales and Fundraising. The program also focuses on preparing and refining a final pitch to be presented on Demo Day, as well as one-on-one mentorship sessions and networking events. During the course of the program, selected teams will be expected to attend in person for at least 3 days at our Miami site. At the close, Borderless Capital will invite a startup from a previous edition as a successful case study.
The program is focused mainly on startups located in Latin America and Miami. However, we welcome projects from anywhere in the world.
Algorand Miami Accelerator will be held online as a virtual program, however, it does require in-person attendance of the selected teams in two instances: halfway through the program, for 3 days, and on Demo Day. Exceptions may be granted in cases of force majeure, like restrictions that may limit flight travel.
No, each team is responsible for all their travel expenses.
Registration will be open until September 19th, 2021. Once it closes, the selection process will take around 2 weeks, during which each application will be screened by a research team. Shortlisted projects will be contacted for an interview during this period. Successful applications will be informed a few days before the start of the accelerator program.
The program is bilingual. You may apply in Spanish or English, and most sessions with mentors will be held in both languages. For this reason, participants are not required to know or speak English. The final pitch on Demo Day may also be conducted in Spanish. However, if you do know the language, we recommend presenting in English. Some of the investors do not speak Spanish and pitching in English may open up more opportunities.
